Born in Toronto, Barbara now resides in a country setting in the village of Midhurst.

Chittick left her career in advertising to follow her dream of becoming a recognized artist. Her work has been gaining popularity in North America and patrons of Chitticks's work from Australia, England and the United States have commissioned her paintings for corporate and private collections.
